Medialuna · rodeo chileno

Privacy Policy

Effective 19 October 2026

Short version: Medialuna does not sell or share personal data, and everything you create in the game stays on your device. The app reads a small settings file from our server once, and, if that file asks for it and you allow it, registers for push notifications with a random id.

Who we are

Medialuna is an arcade game about rodeo chileno for iPhone and iPad. The rodeo itself is played offline. This policy explains what the app does with information on your device and the few things it sends to us. If you have questions, use the contact details on our support page.

Data we collect

There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not profile you, we do not build an advertising identifier, and nothing about your game progress is ever uploaded. Two things do leave the device, and only these:

WhatWhenWhy
An ordinary HTTPS request to medialunas.online, carrying nothing but the request itself and your device's standard browser user agent. Your IP address is visible to our server and to our hosting provider, as it is for any website you open.Once, the first time you open the app. The answer is kept on the device and the request is never repeated. To read a small settings file that tells the app what to show.
A random install id generated on your device, together with the Apple/Firebase push token for this installation.Only if the settings file asks for notifications and you allow them in the iOS prompt. So we can send you a notification. The id is random, is not linked to you or to any account, and is not used for tracking.

If you never allow notifications, nothing in the second row happens. If you are offline on first launch, the app shows an offline screen instead of sending anything.

Web pages inside the app

This policy and our support page can open in a web view inside the app. They are our own pages on our own domain; they set no cookies for advertising and run no third-party analytics. A web view request reaches our server the same way as opening the page in Safari.

Firebase

If, and only if, notifications are enabled, the app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging from Google to deliver them. Firebase then processes the push token and the basic technical data needed to route a notification to this installation. Google acts as our processor for that delivery; see Google's Firebase privacy information. No other Firebase product is built into the app: no Analytics, no Crashlytics, no advertising.

Data stored only on your device

WhatWhyWhere
Rider name, results sheets, horses, purse, outfits, awards, streaks and settingsTo save your progress between sessionsA local database inside the app's own storage
Rider card portrait (optional)Shown on your rider card and on results images you choose to shareConverted to a silhouette image and stored in the same local database

This information never leaves your device unless you share a results image yourself through the iOS share sheet. It is included in your device backups according to your own iCloud or computer backup settings. You can erase all of it at any time in Settings → Reset progress, or by deleting the app.

Camera and photo library

The camera is used only when you tap Take photo on the rider card. The photo picker is used only when you tap Choose photo; only the single image you select is read. Saving to your library happens only if you pick Save Image from the share sheet. Images are processed on the device and are never uploaded.

Notifications

There are two separate kinds. Reminders that you turn on in Settings are local notifications scheduled on your device (the daily club rodeo and a note when your horses are rested); no server is involved. Push notifications from us are only ever set up when the settings file asks for them and you accept the iOS prompt, and they use the random install id described above. Either kind can be switched off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.

Children

The app is not directed at children and asks no one for personal details. It has no accounts, no profiles, no chat and no in-app purchases.

Your rights

Your game data is entirely under your control on your device: erase it in Settings → Reset progress, or by deleting the app. The only record we can hold is the random install id and push token, and only if you allowed notifications. Turning notifications off in iOS Settings stops their use; to have the record deleted, or to ask what is held against it, write to us through the support page and we will act within 30 days. Deleting the app also ends the token's validity. Depending on where you live, the GDPR or similar laws give you rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection; we rely on your consent (the iOS prompt) for notifications, and on our legitimate interest in running the app for the one settings request.

How long we keep it

The settings request is served and leaves only the ordinary web-server log entries our host keeps, which rotate within 30 days. A push record is kept only while the installation is active, and is removed once Apple reports the token as no longer valid.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
